Base Plan

But that may not cover everything – and health care costs are on the rise.4

Certain expenses are not eligible for coverage under the Alumni Health and Dental Plans.

Your coverage shall remain in force from month to month provided that the required premiums
are paid when due. Coverage shall terminate at the end of the last month for which premium
payment was made to and accepted by the insurer, in which case no notice shall be required.
The insurer reserves the right to change premiums required based on its payment of benefits
experience, or to alter the benefits consistent with a change in the government health insurance
plan, or for any other reason. You may apply to increase coverage at any time, if evidence of
health satisfactory to the insurer is submitted along with a written application for the change
in coverage. If you wish to reduce benefits you must have been covered under the existing benefits
for a period of at least twelve (12) consecutive months prior to the requested date. You may change
from single to couple or family coverage at any time by submitting a written application and medical
evidence (if such evidence is required) for the dependant(s) to be added. Upon approval, coverage
will become effective on a date to be determined by the insurer.

- You are an alumni member or their spouse
- You are a Canadian resident
- You are enrolled in a government health plan
Quebec residents only: Residents of Quebec must be registered under the RAMQ Prescription Drug
Insurance Plan or enrolled under a group plan. This policy will top up the basic drug plan coverage
mandated by Quebec’s health insurance.
